Meet the newest of the new babies. :)   I got Reggie a buddy over the weekend so he would give poor Mouse (and me!) some peace.  Now we all get to sleep at night, because they are tired from playing!

The snapshot is from my new Coolpix 4.  This is a fairly low-res image, but I have to say that I’m pleased with the color and whitebalance.  This was taken pretty much right out of the box, so I’m going to be interested in seeing what it will do once I’ve learned how to work it…

I was going to ask what you thought of the new camera. glad you like it. Does it have a delay between the shutter and the capture? that’s the big reason why I’ve never thought about getting a point and shoot.
Cool kitty, glad they’re getting along :)

Yes, it does have a shutter delay and its incessantly annoying. What’s the deal with that anyway?

I don’t know. I think it has something to do with the sensor they use in the point and shoots. I’ve tried a couple, but I need that almost instant click from an SLR. I don’t take a lot of pictures when I go out… I study my subjects too much instead of just clicking the shutter sometimes.

Jamie, I’m sure you already know this, but I’ll mention in case you haven’t had a reason to learn it till now… with digitals, you can beat that shutter delay by pressing the shutter button halfway while you’re studying your subject (obviously pointed at your subject so that the auto-focus is correct)… and then when you’re ready to shoot press it the rest of the way down and you get instant shutter gratification. This is a total necessity for me when snapping the kids, since they’re in constant motion, and that adorable moment never lasts as long as shutter delay.

And may I mention, while I’m here, that I have a couple of available cats. You seem quite fond of kitties, and I wonder if I could FedEx mine to you :-P
