Now it bugs me

I’ve been mostly very ambivalent the last several months about dating. There have been times, though, when I’ve found myself very lonely and bummed out at being single and uninvolved. Right now is one of those times. Text messages unanswered and three dozen winks unresponded to have left me feeling teary and lonely tonight. You men suck…all of you.

Apparently no one thought much of my new photo project either.

New Project

I was out last evening just driving around and ended up near Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves. These are a few of the shots I came out with:

These are all from the new Coolpix.  Not bad, I suppose, but I wish I had more ISO to work with…the L4 only goes as low as 200.

Anyway…these inspired an idea for a project. As a matter of fact, when the idea struck I had to pull off the freeway to write it down!  I’m thinking of doing a series of photos on signs, buildings, places, etc., that are completely distinct to Atlanta – Turner Field, Delta, Air Tran, the Fox Theatre, Olympic Park, Coca-Cola, Georgia Tech – and photographing them after dark.  Thoughts/suggestions, as always, are welcome…

How?

It’s an interesting dynamic we have, you and I.  So much chemistry sometimes, so much fun…laughs, conversation, affection…effortless.  Comfortable, like a favorite sweatshirt.

Then, what happens?  The next time we talk, its more like a dialogue between two distant cousins…awkward silences, as though we’ve run out of things to say.  How could that be, when just days ago – hours really – we couldn’t stop talking, laughing, touching.  How does that happen?

Meet the newest of the new babies. :)   I got Reggie a buddy over the weekend so he would give poor Mouse (and me!) some peace.  Now we all get to sleep at night, because they are tired from playing!

The snapshot is from my new Coolpix 4.  This is a fairly low-res image, but I have to say that I’m pleased with the color and whitebalance.  This was taken pretty much right out of the box, so I’m going to be interested in seeing what it will do once I’ve learned how to work it…

A Milestone

Not particularly a good one either, in my opinion.  I’ll turn 35 this weekend.

The last birthday I had a problem with was 30.  It was the beginning of the rest of my life, but not in the way I wanted.  While so many of my friends from college were starting families, I was getting divorced.

Five years later, not a whole lot has changed. Most of my college friends have had their second child by now.   I’m still single, unattached, with no viable prospects on the horizon.  As of Sunday, my chances of giving birth to a child with a spina bifida or Down’s syndrome increase dramatically – inversely proportionate to my chances of actually getting pregnant in the first place.  Or meeting someone I’d actually consider getting pregnant with.
