eHarmony
Most of you are probably familiar with “the premier relationship site.” I’ve used it off and on for several years and have admittedly met some great guys there. But lately some of the encounters there have started to annoy me…namely the content of the “closed messages” that some people use when they decide to stop communication. A few of my favorites:
- “I don’t feel the chemistry is there.” – Huh?? We’ve answered a few questions…what could you possibly know about chemistry???
- “I am pursing another relationship.” – Oh really? Then why are you still on here collecting matches Romeo??
- “I am taking a break from dating.” – Then turn off your damn matches and stop wasting other people’s time.
- “Based on statements in their profile, I’m not interested in this match.” – Ouch.
- This one is my favorite…”Other.” – Please. Grow a spine. “I want to pursue other matches at eHarmony,” is perfectly honest and decent.
So c’mon guys…be nice, but be real too…

Trying to find someone is hard… finding someone you like, well… My MO used to be to not respond. I’ve changed my mind lately, after someone did it to me. At least I learned womething that made me less of a jerk

I did eharmony a few months back. I understand your thoughts on some of the comments, but I need to make a remark about the ““I am pursing another relationship.” – Oh really? Then why are you still on here collecting matches Romeo??”. It’s not that easy…I mean, what if you are communicating with someone but its still so new, you don’t want to “hide” your profile yet. I was in this same situation recently. I was talking to one guy, but didn’t want to communicat with others, but I didn’t want to hide my profile yet because it was so new. I understand your point, I really do, but its not all black and white like that. I dunno, i guess just cause i’ve been there I have to defend that one statement. LOL
Keep up the search….he’s out there….
